TRACE:
Traditional Arts and Crafts of Europe

Objectives:

  • To improve access to intangible cultural heritage on online spaces and accelerate digital transition

  • To safeguard traditional knowledge and know-how with innovative digital tools in accordance with the principles of the European Green Deal

  • To strengthen mediation and interpretation of traditional craft techniques to citizens with new models

  • To inspire artists for innovative content creation with evolving technological methods and new practices

  • To promote European young designers to boost their competitiveness on international level

We will establish a crowd-sourcing online community surface and knowledge center. Here will be loaded up all the artistic, educational and scientific materials which were created during (and after) the project. The main aims of the site are to promote young designers in Europe and beyond, and to digitally safeguard and disseminate the rich European craft heritage. We believe that the European cultural heritage materials presented will equip young designers with unique skills and competences that will make them more competitive in global markets, and this digital repository will be known at European+ level and can be further expanded in the long term.
